20-oz soda cans?

So my dad works at Metal Container Corperation... Well, they're planning on making 20-oz soda cans as apposed to the current 12-oz cans. This is putting a whole new item on the market. Whether it's a success or not, the demand will change rather quickly for both the 12-oz and 20-oz cans. If these new cans are a success the demand will increase as customer taste will benefit from the larger cans. If the demand increases, the supply will begin to increase. Since the 20-oz can is a substitute for the 12-oz can (assuming customers prefer the 20-oz can), the supply of the 20-oz can will increase while the supply or the 12-oz can will decrease.

Great job! (although some of that is changes in QD and QS, but you have the general idea!)

so my dad is like designing the new project at MCC and i was talking to him about it and he said that although this will cause them to make a few less 12oz soda cans.. the bigger cans will not hold soda... they will more likely be used for Monster, Amp and other energy drinks.. they are brodending thier supply to accomodate the growing demand for energy drinks...

ah thank you morgan for that close to the source feedback...but i agree with samantha on this. However I find it kind of crazy that people are switching to this larger is better mindset, because many people believe that our society is becoming obese. This is caused indirectly by exacly what sam is saying, the demand for these bigger items is going up, and the smaller, better for you substitutes are slowly becoming a thing of the past. I believe its a dang shame, and that our society needs to take a good firm look at the mirror, before we can't see our feet.
